0726_shacho_cp_0001Everyone’s a DJ. Lily Allen’s a DJ. A few years back Peter Hook was a DJ. And Bez. But being able to sing/play bass/dance like a loon isn’t the same as being able to mix tunes and keep a dancefloor rocking. Some people can do it (Peter Hook, so I heard), and some can’t (Lily Allen, so I heard). Now we’ve got Shacho of Soil & Pimp Sessions on the decks in the final Palace of Wonder extravaganza.

I came in halfway through, and the first track I heard took me by surprise. The tune was right at the point where rare groove becomes disco. Are we going to get an hour of cheese from the big man? No. He heads into straight rare groove, and then into club jazz. And yes, he can DJ and the dancefloor is hot.
